Is there a place in your hometown that always brings back good feelings when you think about it?
When I think about my hometown and the area that I grew up, there are many, many places that hold a special place in my heart and Starved Rock State Park is definitely one of them.
Walking through the doors of the lodge always held the promise that something fun and memorable was about to happen. I have so many great memories of family and friends there, be it a birthday party, anniversary celebration, wedding, baby shower or just hanging out on the Veranda enjoying the amazing views while having lunch or drinks with family and friends. 
For many locals, myself included, Starved Rock was also a great place to work. I am so grateful for the amazing people I was blessed to have crossed paths with while working there.
